FREEDOM OF INFORMATION COST POLICY
FOIA requests are filled by Macomb Township per the following procedure for cost.

The cost of each request shall be limited to the actual duplication, mailing, clerical labor and review costs, including mileage when off site duplication is required.
- Per page: .02 cents for letter and 2 1/2 cents for legal
- For Pages over 11"x17" that must be copied at Kinko's, those costs are passed on direct, per their receipt.
- Current mileage rate is .50 per mile.
- Minimum hourly wage of person capable of filling request is $21.62 depending on which department handles request.
- Kinkos Cost is $4.50 per copy for standard copies
We can mail the package to you via "Priority Mail" at a cost of $4.95, added to the total cost of the package. A good faith deposit of 50% of the actual cost is required at the time of request, if the total cost is more than $50.00. The deposit shall not exceed 50% of the actual cost.
Normally, we only give the requested documents to the person after receiving the payment. On occasion, a request will be received to have the documents mailed to the person prior to payment.
The FOIA coordinator must approve this. All requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
A conformation letter from requester (mail or fax) agreeing to the stated costs is required.
