The Treasurer’s office is solely responsible for the receipt, deposit, control and disbursement of all receipts (taxes and all other revenues) of the Township on a daily basis. The Treasurer collects taxes for all taxing units within the Township, such as the Chippewa Valley, L’Anse Creuse, Utica, and New Haven Schools.
An important function of the Treasurer’s office involves the investment of available Township funds. Responsible and conservative investment policies insure maximum return with minimal risk.
The office also bills, collects, and maintains all Township Special Assessments for water, sewer and pavement.

Billing and Tax Collection
The Tax Bill
The Macomb Township tax bill is a single unit consisting of the tax bill itself, the mailing envelope, and the return envelope. A payment copy of the tax bill is printed inside the return envelope.
When are winter taxes due?
Winter taxes become payable on December 1st and are due without penalty until February 14th. After February 14th, a 1% late fee is assessed through February 28th.
On March 1st, all unpaid taxes are forwarded as ‘delinquent’ to the Macomb County Treasurer for payment, with additional penalties assessed by the County Treasurer.
Summer taxes are collected by the Macomb Intermediate School District. For questions about your summer taxes you must contact the MISD. The deadline to pay your summer taxes without penalty is September 14. Failure to receive your tax bill does not waive interest or penalty.
