Planning & Zoning

The Planning Department reviews site development plans to insure compliance with the zoning and other general ordinances of the Township.  Plans are reviewed for building setbacks, flood plain violations, height limitations, parking accommodations and site density as well as many other items. The Planning Department also supports the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Northbridge PUD Application Withdrawn

The applicant withdrew the proposed Northbridge Planned Unit Development Application.  The Township will not address development on the Hickory Hollow and/or Sycamore Hills parcels until it receives new applications, plans, fees, and any other required legal documents. Pursuant to Township Ordinances and Michigan laws, the Township will notify all properties within 300’ and publish the notice in a newspaper of general circulation a minimum of 15 days before all future public hearings.  Additionally, The Township will post future application materials on our website.

Zoning Compliance Letters


The Township Planning Department does not issue Zoning Compliance Letters. Our Zoning Map and Zoning Ordinance is available on this web site. If additional information is necessary and is available in Township records, a FOIA request may be filed though the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Please refer to the FOIA process also located on this web site prior to filing such a request.
