The M.T.R.C. offers a wide variety of fitness classes suitable for all ages and abilities. Patrons can expect to find a diverse range of classes offering everything from low-impact, easy to follow workouts, on up to more advanced, high-impact workouts. FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Combines water and weights for a thorough cross training experience. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.
Instructor: Nicole Langlois
A comprehensive senior exercise class that delivers a fun, musically driven, interactive, full body low impact workout. It uplifts people through cardio dance and fitness movements and improves overall balance and range of motion. Weight training is also layered in to help build and maintain muscular strength and endurance. Please bring a yoga mat to class. Any additional equipment will be provided by instructor.
Turn Up Dance Fitness
Instructor: Morgan Gardner
Turn Up Dance Fitness is a one-hour long H.I.I.T. dance cardio class designed to evolve unapologetically, live loudly, and dance ruthlessly. In this class, we will flex, work, slay, and shake to build cardio endurance, and train our bodies and minds. Moves are repetitive, easy to follow, and suitable for all fitness levels.

Cardio Kickboxing is a fun, energetic kickboxing and strength conditioning class suitable for all fitness levels. It will get beginners into shape and challenge the more advanced athlete. The class integrates combinations of punches, kicks, cardio burst, and strength training. This blend is guaranteed to make you sweat, burn a ton of calories and have you coming back for more.
Gentle Yoga (Seniors/Beginners) Instructor: Stephanie Shell
A well-rounded accessible format for all! Standing and balancing postures, along with stretches on the mat will be incorporated into this class. Benefits include gaining flexibility, balance, and strength. Learn breath work and find relaxation as we practice!

High intensity intervals are one of the most efficient and effective workouts to strengthen, tone and challenge the entire body. HIIT combines intervals of cardio and strength training for a full body burn that will blast calories and leave you feeling strong and empowered! This class is suitable for all fitness levels.
Yoga (Slow Flow)

A slow to moderate paced flow class with an emphasis on controlled movement, muscle control and breath synchronization. Relax the mind and reduce stress while building strength, endurance, and flexibility. This class is suitable for all skill levels.

Take the “work” out of workout! Zumba mixes low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Dances include salsa, merengue, cumbia, and more! This class focuses on high-intensity movements with restorative stretches, rhythmic breathing, and meditation. Using exercise drumsticks, you will be guided through a deeply intentional, rhythmic journey designed to promote the health and fitness of the whole person (mental, physical, emotional). Quick, efficient, and challenging, POUND Unplugged connects mind, body, and sound to create immersive, sensory experiences, unlike anything you’ve experienced in a group fitness class.

Tai Chi and Qi Gong is like using meditation in motion and works as the key to health and wellness. In this class, you will learn the art of Tai Chi through various slow flow-like movements. We will teach you how to breathe correctly, move to bring your core strength, work on your balance, and relieve stress. It is an excellent practice for everyone, especially those with arthritis and joint pain. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

A full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired moves. Get the best of both worlds with Barre-lates! This low impact fusion class combines the dynamic, dance-inspired movements of barre with the lengthening, strengthening exercises of mat Pilates, using music to energize and motivate you to move. Barre-lates targets your entire body for a stronger more toned body. This class is suitable of all fitness levels.

Fitness Class Policies
- Participants who register after the registration date will be assessed a late fee per class.
- Mail-in registrations postmarked on or before these dates will not be assessed this fee.
- Late registration fee will be assessed to all registering participants after the above indicated dates and times.
- Decisions regarding the running or cancellation of classes due to low enrollment are made at the registration deadline of each session.
Growing up in family of talented musicians, Devin has spent most of her life dancing and playing a variety of instruments. Through her fitness and wellness journey, she found a way to share her passion for the art of music and movement while helping others achieve their fitness and wellness goals. Aligned with the POUND Community, she aspires to change minds before bodies and use beat and alternative movement to launch people to new heights of self-worth, happiness, and human connection.
Melissa is a wellness and mindfulness specialist with a focus on building strength and confidence from the inside out. Over the years she has done extensive work both personally and professionally to understand the mind-body connection as it relates to both mental and physical health. She believes that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to health and wellness, and uses this philosophy to create a fun, inviting and judgment-free environment for all of her clients regardless of experience level or physical ability!
Morgan is a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. She teaches with high energy and mind/body focus to help the community be more active, meet their health goals and become their best, whole selves.
Jessica is a certified Zumba® instructor and has been teaching Zumba® for 6 years. Dance is her passion and has danced her entire life. Jessica’s favorite part about teaching Zumba® is showing others new moves. It brings her so much joy to help others stay active, feel good, and be able to move like they never have before! During class, Jessica focuses on cueing moves ahead of time, so all levels are welcome! Class participants can go at their own pace, and she is highly aware of when to show modifications.
Whether you are just starting on your fitness journey or whether you are a seasoned exercise junky, Nicole’s mission is to provide you with a one-of-a-kind workout experience that ultimately improves your quality of life. Her passion is helping others reach their fitness goals and improving their physical and mental well-being. Nicole actively teaches POUND, Cardio Kickboxing, strength and toning, bootcamp and Chair One. Nicole’s goal is to make exercising “fun” and to create an environment where you feel encouraged and safe to be your true self.
Stephanie is a Registered Yoga Teacher with 500+ hours of training, including 300 HR Yoga Therapy thru Beaumont Hospital. She has been teaching for over 8 years, and has experience with teaching many formats, including chair yoga and yin yoga. Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and working out, along with maintaining her yoga practice. She delights in sharing the practice in a way that appeals to young and old, new and experienced practitioners!
Melissa has always been an active person and has been teaching group fitness classes for 5 years. Melissa earned her certifications to teach group fitness after the birth of her youngest daughter. She wanted to be a good role model for her girls by providing people a quality of life by increasing their strength, balance, cardio fitness and flexibility.
Sophia is a Health and Wellness instructor throughout the Macomb/St. Clair Communities. She teaches many health and wellness modalities, from Nutrition to Tai Chi. Her journey with Tai Chi/Qi Gong began ten years ago after years of being a Massage Therapist. Her goal was to help others feel good mentally and physically, but after many years of practice, her loved profession started to take a toll on her health. She found Tai Chi was the key to strength and healing. She is excited to join us at Macomb Township, teaching us how to relieve our stress, strengthen our bodies, and learn to flow with the body and mind as one.
