Ethics Advisory Committee Application Now Available


Deadline to apply is February 20, 2018 at 4:30pm. Questions about this application can be directed to the Supervisor’s office 586-992-0710 option 6 or email at supervisor@macomb-mi.gov.

Committee members are volunteers and shall serve without compensation of any kind. The Committee or its individual members shall incur no debt or other obligation on behalf of Macomb Township. Macomb Township shall not be responsible for any liability of the Committee or its individual members.

This is an ad-hoc committee. A 6 member team will be chosen from applications selected by board members (1 each).  Eligible applicants can be residents or township employees. The makeup of the committee is intended to be a mix of employees and residents with three members of each category. Committee will have access to township staff and township resources. Committee will research, develop and report to the Township Board a possible ethics ordinance or other means to address ethical behavior. The committee is subject to the Michigan’s Open Meetings Act. There can be no secret meetings (meetings must be posted publicly), minutes shall be taken and recorded with the Macomb Township Clerk’s office. Any decisions or recommendations by the committee are subject to final board approval. The governing board may very well pass on the advice it receives from the committee.
