**Swim Lessons - UPDATED

The Aquatics Center at the Macomb Township Recreation Center offers a variety of swim lesson classes that are available for online registration such as Parent and Child (PAC) Swim Lessons, Learn-to-Swim (LTS) Swim Lessons, Pre-Competitive Swim Clinics, and Adult & Private Swim Lessons.

So, What's New?

We are excited to continue our UPDATED Swim Lesson Program.  We have made a few changes based on what we saw last session.   Please be patient with us as we continue to fine tune this program. 

 

What has changed since the Fall Session?

  1. Parent and Child (PAC) Swim lessons for kids 1 - 5 years of age.  If your child is 1 - 5 years of age AND is not comfortable getting in the water without you, PAC is the class for you and your child.   

    Parent and Child (PAC) Swim will NOT be separated between Beginner and Intermediate. 

  2. There will only be ONE SESSION.  We are taking a longevity approach to lessons.  This session will run January – April, allowing for a longer amount of uninterrupted time for your children to work continuously on improving their swimming skills.  


Learn-To-Swim (LTS) for kids 6 - 12 years of age - When signing up for this program, sign up for a specific time slot, we will swim test kids on the first day of class and group them with other kids of similar skills.

Next, we are introducing our Pre-Competitive Swim Clinic - For kids who know how to swim Freestyle and Backstroke and want to learn Competitive Swim strokes to prepare them for a swim team.

REGISTRATION LIMITS:

Participants may be registered for only one section of swim lessons at a time.  Pre-Competitive Swim Clinic and Private Lessons are included in this. Registering for multiple classes or sections will result in enrollment cancellations.

Please read all class descriptions and age requirements before enrolling in a class.  Enrolling in the incorrect class may also result in enrollment cancellation.

Swim Testing - For Registered participants only

For Learn-To-Swim (LTS) lessons only - On the first day of class each student will be tested and split up into separate classes with other students of a similar level based on their current skill set.  

Parent and Child (PAC) classes do not do swim testing.  PAC classes are based on age and comfort in the water.

Make-Up Swim Lessons

There will be no MAKE-UP classes or refunds for classes that participants are unable to attend. If the pool is closed due to weather or maintenance, causing classes to be cancelled, a make-up class would occur on the next day in the sequence of classes after the last scheduled class date.

Use of the Facility

Use of the facility/pool during open swim hours requires paid daily admission or use of membership. Facility/Pool usage is NOT included in swim lesson fees.
